High School CO Cycling League Program
August 5– weekend of 10/21-22
The CO High School Cycling League Program is for riders of all skill levels from all Fort Collins high schools and all surrounding communities.
From super beginners, all the way to those that have raced in the past....you are all included!
We will help riders develop confidence and ability in bike maintenance, racing, riding and technical handling skills.
All practices will be structured by skill set. Riders will practice in groups of similar age and skill level. Each rider will have the opportunity to grow as an athlete and as an individual in a positive atmosphere.
Ride leaders will expose riders to the local trails, gravel roads, hard surfaces and even jumps!
Practice Schedule:
3 Practices Per Week: 2 Weekday Practices, typically 1.5 hours in length. 1 Weekend Practice, typically 2 to 3 hours in length.
UNTIL RACING BEGINS: AUG 26 LEADVILLE
2 Practice Per Week: 1 Weekday Practice, typically 1.5 hours in length.1 Weekend Practice, typically 2 to 3 hours in length.
AFTER RACE #1 UNTIL PROGRAM ENDS: OCT 22
Times and locations will be determined by the ride leaders for your group AFTER THE FIRST PRACTICE OF THE PROGRAM.
*Coaches will communicate logistics with their respective groups/riders via Team App.
Goals:
· Teach skills to enjoy both recreational and competitive mountain biking.
· Create an atmosphere where athletes work together as a team for every rider’s success.
Cost:
Practices and Races = $1,000 per rider
Will receive a Send Town Bike Club kit (jersey, shorts and socks)
Support at the CO High School Cycling League races and state championships. Support includes: coaching at races, pre-ride, race mechanic, race day food, full pit (tent, chairs, music & good times). Housing is NOT INCLUDED.
