Spring Wolfpack Mountain Bike Program

1st-3rd grade -or- 3rd-5th grade; Coed

Program Info:

For young athlete riders of varying skill levels, Wolfpack is designed to develop interest, confidence and ability in mountain biking through fun & adventure, in a supportive group context. Led by volunteer coaches, we focus on learning basic skills and having new experiences to progress as athletes and as humans. Note: this is not a learn to ride a bike program!

Rides occur on singletrack trails, bike skills parks, paved trails and other hard surfaces, both when weather is inclement and otherwise at the discretion of ride leaders. It’s all about the adventure! Athletes should expect e.g. 4-10 mile weeknight rides, as progression allows, working on skills, learning about bikes, as well as to play on and off the bike games. More about Wolfpack.

This program focuses on learning and developing:

  • Trail etiquette

  • Riding as a group

  • Leadership and supporting fellow riders

  • Basic bike/body positions for cornering, climbing, descending, obstacles

  • Using gears/gear selection

  • Braking

  • Line choice / navigating obstacles

  • Basic bike knowledge

Being a coed program, some groups may be mixed, others may not; we aim to offer equal spots for all.
