Ciclismo Spring+Summer Mountain Bike Program

Program Info:
The Ciclismo Cross Country (XC) program is for high school age athletes seeking mountain bike riding and racing experiences. The goal of this program is to create an inclusive environment where athletes of all abilities are supported to grow as athletes and as people. There are no race or performance expectations. Athletes receive the highest quality coaching, more ride time with peers, and foster a supportive team environment to build skills for life long riding with friends.
Note: The Enduro Program coincides with this XC program (Participation Requires Coach Approval)
Program Schedule:
Spring+Summer session dates: April 14-July 23, 2026
*Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday (practice days or supported events) *No Tuesday practices held on Dirt Pile race days in April/May-athletes encouraged to attend races
Tuesday/Thursday practices: 5:00-7:00pm while school is in session, 9:00-11:00am during the Summer
Saturday practices: 9:00am-noon

July 18 Race > Winter Park Race Rendezvous - Winter Park

July 23 > End of program picnic at Spring Canyon Park
Race Support Includes:
Coach support at the race
Tent with snacks and water
Warm-up and cool-down
Community Events
Event Requirements:
Race entry fees and other costs are the responsibility of each athlete/family
A valid USA Cycling License is required for weekend race events
Athletes must:
Have motivation to mountain bike with group of friends/teammates, based on the noted mileage and climbing
Have a mountain bike with at least 26” wheels, gears and handbrakes. It is your responsibility to ensure your athlete’s bike is safe and operable prior to the start of the program. If you or someone you know needs assistance getting a functioning bike, please reach out to ciclismo@sendtown.org and we'll try to help.
Have a safe, properly fitted helmet, gloves, eye protection and weather-appropriate clothing, including a raincoat and layers when appropriate + a way to carry these items as well as a spare tube, multi-tool and a pump or CO2.
Weather can be variable and it is critical that athletes have proper gear or they will not be able to ride.
Abide by the Code of Conduct and be a cooperative, positive group member, ready to have fun with others on bikes, and otherwise!
Follow the number one rule: Be respectful—to themselves, the environment, other trail users, teammates, and coaches at all times

Program Cost: $1,000.00 + processing fees per athlete (payment plan available within registration); Scholarships are available
