  • I started riding in the 1900’s as my main form of transportation and freedom. We were BMX’ing in the days that “RAD” the movie came out. BMX, dirt jumps and urban assault was my thing as a kid. In the early ‘90’s I started mountain-biking and as our youngest son started to ride, we all visited the BMX tracks and got hooked again. That led to mountain bike racing and long backcountry riding trips with the family where we started introducing our son’s friends and other kids to the sport. Working with kids and seeing them progress from very novice to expert level riding is inspiring for me.

  • I have a BS in Food Science and Human Nutrition from CSU. I do science… Chemistry, Microbiology and Sensory.

  • I have always volunteered with my kids’ athletic activities. I’ve coached soccer and led BMX/MTB Teams for 15 years prior to founding Ciclismo Youth Foundation in 2010, and I’m excited as that evolves into Send Town 2020 and beyond. Really --- we created a monster and it is too legit to quit.

  • We like all bikes and Unicycles so if you want to introduce your child to experiential cycling or find peers for them to ride with in an organized fashion, then Send Town is your solution. After we teach your kids how to ride you may want to keep up, so we are working on a parent program for that too…. Stay tuned!

  • I’m most passionate about but not limited to:

    - Skiing – From the 1980’s till now… competition, instructing and backcountry.

    - Ping Pong – Bring it if you think you have game.

    - Volleyball – One of my favorites.

    - Mountain Unicycling – If you didn’t pick up on that already…. Technically cycling but just sayin.

    - Slack Line – Always a good time and exercise.

    - Soccer – Playing and coaching for many years.

    - Pretty much any game, challenge or competition that someone thinks they can win at… I’ll be your Huckleberry.

  • Biking gives me a sense of adventure like no other. It allows me to push myself both mentally and physically. When riding bikes, I truly feel a connection with mother earth...whether that's hitting the city bike trails, flowing some remote singletrack or grunting up some insanely steep pitch. After racing motocross from age 10 till 18, I moved to CO for college. That's really when my mountain bike "career" began.

  • I helped found an independent financial planning & investment management firm (Long Green Planning Group) in 2005. I have a niche specialty... as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, I provide financial education and analysis to individuals and couples working through divorce. I also provide divorce mediation as an alternative to litigation.

  • I love creating cycling opportunities for people. I love helping build community...something way bigger than just me. And I love seeing all the smiling faces during our programs and at our races

  • If you enjoy riding bikes or are simply interested in riding more, we have a place for you. Expect to smile, laugh and ride bikes with a great community of folks.

  • Mountain adventures, trail running, traveling, the library,  gardening and dance parties with the family.

  • Biking gives me a chance to experience like no other mode of transportation. Cars are too impersonal, they don’t give you the ability to really “get to know” a place. So many experiences can be had on a bike!

  • I dabble in computer programming. I work for an outdoor retail company who shares the same passion (maybe more) for the outdoors as myself.

  • Giving back to the community is imperative. Find something you love, try and use that as a vessel to enrich those around you.

  • Community, fun, a place to belong

  • I’m very fortunate to live where I do. I like to be outside. I try to instill this fact in my family as well.

  • I’ve been riding bikes like a lot of people since I was a wee child, but I didn’t really learn how to ride a bike until I started riding with Send Town. Turns out there is technique… WHO KNEW? Well Jason the rest of the crew did and were kind enough to more than double my fun on two wheels. I prefer to ride a mountain bike on singletrack given the myriad options of riding styles, but I really will always choose rides where I can be on my bike with my friends for a good long while.

  • I graduated from kindergarten once. Everything else seems like just applications of that… Once I did a BA in English literature to try and figure out what it meant to be a good person since the Marine Corps and a tour of Afghanistan had me very much interested in that question. Another time I worked on a BS in Physics and ended up with a Masters in Math and a PhD thesis write up short of a PhD. These days I play on computers for a living.

  • Life has lots of things it’s like, but among all those it’s pretty fun to spend a bit of it on two wheels with your friends. Giving younger people a chance to go out with their friends, improve their skills, and share in each other’s successes and obstacles along the way is a wonder to behold. You should try it too; talk about hope for the cynic in me.

  • If you’re even remotely interested in a good time. There’s room for everyone on and off the bikes. We’re not always accurate and/or efficent with everything we do, but the results are final and the process is ALWAYS fun.

  • I’m a HUGE nerd and read “too much.” Recently with friends who came over, my partner had to tell me to stop walking away from the conversation to bring a book back from my library that was germane to the current chat topic… All that curiosity and a whole lot of ignorance keep me as interested in the world as I was as a wee child. My new favorite hobby is watching my daughter’s curiosity take in the whole world and show me just how fascinating it is and always has been yet again.

  • When I moved to Fort Collins in 1995, I became acquainted with the cool kids at Northern Colorado Grassroots Riders and went on every group ride I could find. The following year I was invited to ride for the Lee's Cyclery/Schwinn Homegrown Team and began racing in the old C.O.R.P.S. (Colorado Off Road Points Series) MTB Races in the Expert Class. Those were fun and formative times in my cycling life. I learned that riding and racing a bike takes a lot more than fitness and skills. I had to learn to be a good cook and a good mechanic. I also made a lot of amazing friendships that I still have to this day. Later on in my racing career I was sponsored by The Cyclogist bike shop. The owner, Shawn Brooks, was a very close personal friend and he introduced me to most of my friends that founded the Ciclismo Youth Foundation in 2010.

  • I am a professional geologist with a focus on Mine Reclamation of both hard rock and uranium mine sites throughout the western United States. I have a BA in Geology from the College of Wooster (Ohio), a MS in Geology from the University of Colorado and an MBA from Duke University.

  • Honestly, I love the people who make Send Town work. They are long-time friends who do amazing things in our community. Being in their company is empowering and uplifting. They are my community and I probably get more than I give.

  • If you like to ride bikes, we like to ride bikes. If you want to feel like you are part of a cycling community, we like to build a cycling community. If you like adventures, we like adventures. We are approachable and welcoming to all. We can't wait to meet you and your family!

  • I am a single dad to a beautiful 7-year old girl who is the love of my life.

For fun, I pursue adventures of all kinds. I am an avid backcountry skier. I love to get off the grid in Canyonlands or take off on my motorcycle for a camping trip. I also plant a garden every year. I am a semi-professional photographer (yes, I have sold my work).
