Fall 2026 Junior Cyclocross Race Program
Ages 8-18; Coed
Program Info:
For athletes of all skill levels who are interested in the cyclocross discipline to develop their skills and racing readiness. Designed to develop interest, technique and confidence through professionally coached sessions with peers in a supportive environment.
Cyclocross offers a great pathway to cycling participation and skill-building for all ages and abilities. Skill focus includes: cornering, starts, dismounting/mounting, barriers, stairs, running, sand, climbs, race simulation and more.
Program includes practices and team support at select USA Cycling-sanctioned race events. Athletes are encouraged to participate in additional regional and local races.
This Devo CX program is supported by USA Cycling’s inaugural Cyclocross Club Expansion Grant (press release).

Weeknight Wednesday practices: October 14, 21, 28
Sunday practices: October 18, November 8, 29
Weeknight practices start at 4:30 PM; Sunday practice starts at 10:30 AM; Practices run 90 minutes
Practices to be held in local area parks

October 31: CycloX Boulder Reservoir(?)
November 15: Boulder Cup (UCI) Day #2
November 21 & 22: Cross of the North
December 5: Longmont - State Championships(?)
Note: Junior men & women cyclocross racing categories are typically:
9-10 (technically 8-9 years old based on age the following calendar year)
11-12 (10-11 years old)
13-14 (12-13 years old)
15-16 (14-15 years old)
17-18 (16-17 years old)
Athletes must:
Have motivation to progress skills with teammates, with some interest in racing
Have a cyclocross, gravel or mountain bike (reach out if you are looking for a CX bike!). It is your responsibility to ensure your athlete’s bike is safe and operable prior to the start of the program. This is paramount to the safety and progression of all athletes.
Have a safe, properly fitted helmet, gloves, closed-toe shoes, eye protection and weather-appropriate clothing, including a raincoat and layers when appropriate + a way to carry these items as well as a spare tube, multi-tool and a pump or CO2.
Weather can be variable and it is critical that athletes have proper gear or they will not be able to ride.
Be attentive & respectful to the environment, other trail users, their peers, and coaches at all times, including in areas where groups congregate before and after practice
Be ready to have fun with others on bikes, and otherwise!
Have a USA Cycling license to participate in team race events (a junior license is significantly discounted); Race entry fees are the responsibility of participants
