High School Program General Questions
Who is this program for?
Riders who are in 9th - 12th grade. Riders of all skill levels are welcome, encouraged, and supported in the High School Program. The Colorado High School Cycling League caters it's races to the very entry level rider through advanced rider. STBC also supports and coaches all levels in our HS program.
Do I have to race?
Although encouraged, it is up to the rider to decide if they want to race. Practices are tailored around prepping riders for racing every other weekend.
Where are the races?
You can find all the pertinent details of each race including where and when by following this link: Race Weekends. All Northern Colorado schools fall under the North - Platte region for reference.
What discipline of riding does the program cater to?
Mountain biking encompasses a wide range of disciplines. For the High School Program, we focus on the skills needed to be able to navigate most trail riding found in Northern Colorado. At this time we don’t have a Downhill or Enduro component.
How is communication handled for group practice?
Practice schedules will be delivered via Team App. This is an application that you will need to download from the Google App Store or Apple App Store. Once you download Team App, first join the team SendTown Bike Club. Once you join the team, you can request access to the group “High School MTB 2020”.
How are riders grouped for practice?
The first practice of the program is dedicated to creating groups based on rider skills. All proceeding practices will be structured by skill set. Riders will practice in groups of similar age and skill level.
