Practice Groups and Grouping Policy

It is each family’s responsibility to understand and agree to our standards and practices for managing athlete ride groups.

Our programs are built around a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets athletes where they are along the adolescent growth curve. Because athletes have different needs at different ages and stages, grouping approaches for practices vary across Wolfpack, Devo, and Ciclismo.

Across all programs, we maintain a coach-to-athlete ratio of 1:6 or better. Athlete group placement is at the discretion of coaches, coordinators and staff. It is not a ranking, evaluation, or competitive designation, and may change over the course of a program season. While we do our best to consider sibling and family needs, participation in any program should not be contingent upon placement in a specific group.

Wolfpack

At the Wolfpack stage, connection, confidence, and social development are our primary priorities. Groups are primarily age-based, with coaches and coordinators working together to create group dynamics that are positive, supportive, and effective for learning & fun.

Devo

Devo serves as the foundation for skill progression. At this stage, athletes are ready to develop technical skills, movement patterns, and endurance. Groups initially form by age, then evolve to emphasize skill alignment and trail compatibility, allowing athletes to progress safely and effectively together.

Ciclismo

As athletes advance, Ciclismo groups spend the majority of their time riding together on the trail. Group placement is based on similar skill and fitness levels, with fitness being the primary determining factor to ensure safe practicing, effective training, and cohesive group rides.

We reserve the right of selective admission and group placement to ensure athlete safety, compatibility, and overall program quality.
